I don't usually get motion sick but the smell of diesel exhaust combined with rough water will just about do me in. I'm wondering if the smell is very noticeable to others on this tour.

No smell on our trip, and do not sit up front. The only people to get sick on our boat were the ones in the front couple of rows.

Yes, once in a life time event to see. We went on the 4 am tour. This way you get to see the lava in the dark, see a beautiful sunrise, and then the lava again in the light of day. The …

Yes, once in a life time event to see. We went on the 4 am tour. This way you get to see the lava in the dark, see a beautiful sunrise, and then the lava again in the light of day. The earlier you go, the less chance of ocean spray you’ll get because ocean is usually calmer in the morning. We got lucky and had a calm sea with little to zero winds. Didn’t get wet at all. If there’s one thing to do on the big island, it’s to see the beauty of Pele. Have fun!
